Keith Bleyer Named Head Women’s Soccer Coach at Green River College.
AUBURN, Wash.- Green River College has announced the hiring of new head women's soccer coach, Keith Bleyer.
A former player and graduate of Santa Clara University, Bleyer earned his BA in communications. Bleyer was a member of the United States Youth National Team prior to his college career. On the coaching front, Bleyer is currently the Assistant Director of Coaching for the Valor Soccer Club in Maple Valley, WA. He brings a wealth of coaching experience, having coached a number of youth teams in Washington, Oregon and Colorado. Bleyer has served as an EDP coach with Washington State Youth Soccer and an ODP Coach and Regional Training Director with the Portland Timber and Thorns. Bleyer holds his 'A' coaching license and Goalkeeping Diploma.
When Bleyer is not on the field coaching, you can hear him on air. He is the radio and television play-by-play announcer for the Portland Timbers.
"We are extremely excited to have Keith join our Gator family," said Athletic Director Shannon Percell. "We were looking for a candidate that could step in to rebuild our women's soccer program while modeling our campus values. We are confident that Coach Bleyer has the ability to do this."
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Green River College has not participated in women's soccer since fall 2019. The team will be back in action in fall 2022.
