Bennett took home the first medal of the season, winning the women's decathlon at the 2026 NWAC Multi-Event Championships on Tuesday at Whitworth University, hosted by Spokane Colleges.
Bennett by over 200 points heading into the last two events, but she still had her top event, the javelin throw, coming up next. Bennett, who has the second best mark in the event in the NWAC this season, came up with a huge throw of 41.28 meters, scoring 692 points to jump into first place. She then completed the 800 meters in 2:53 to hang onto first place and the gold medal by just over 100 points. Bennett's final score of 3,960 is the top total in the NWAC this season. To go along with her first place finish in the javelin, Bennett also took second place in the 100-meter hurdles, shot put and long jump.
