Former Saint Rikuu Nishida named NCAA Nashville Regional MVP for Oregon

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Former Mt. Hood Community College baseball player Rikuu Nishida was named the NCAA Nashville Regional MVP as he plays for the Oregon Ducks.

After going 6-for-12 with seven runs in Nashville, and also a clutch three-run double in the regional final against Xavier, Nishida was named MVP for the weekend.

Nishida played in the NWAC for the Saints just a year ago during the 2022 baseball season where he helped lead Mt. Hood to the NWAC finals. Nishida hit. 364 with 10 doubles, two triple, 59 runs scored, 29 RBI and 58 stolen bases that season for the Saints.

Nishida and the Ducks continue on in the NCAA tournament as they play a best-of-three series against Oral Roberts starting Friday night with the winner advancing to the College World Series.
