LONGVIEW, Wash. - After six scoreless innings, the Spokane Sasquatch broke open the game with six runs in the final three frames to down Everett 6-0 on Friday in game five of the 2025 NWAC Baseball Championship, an elimination game, at David Story Field.

The starters for both teams were excellent in the game as Spokane's Josh Sterba pitched seven shutout frames, allowing five hits and two walks with four punchouts to earn the win. Everett starter Blake Sandvik pitched 5.2 scoreless innings with three strikeouts and no walks.

In the seventh inning, the Sasquatch loaded the bases with two outs after three walks. Joe Thornton then came up, driving a single that brought home two runs and scored a third on an Everett error.

In the ninth, Reese Vassar drove in two more runs, followed by Drew Stevens with a sacrifice fly to give Spokane a commanding 6-0 lead.

The bullpen was strong for Spokane as Tyler Alm and David Barnes each pitched a scoreless inning to close out the win for Spokane.

Everett tallied six total hits in the game. Their best opportunity to score came in the fifth inning as they loaded the bases with one out. Sterba worked out of the jam by forcing a pop up and fly out.

The Sasquatch keep their tournament aspirations alive as they will next play the loser of the Linn-Benton vs. Lower Columbia game on Saturday at 2 p.m. Everett finishes a strong year with a 39-12 record and a North Region championship.
