Red Devils Dominate Shoreline 91-60 in Opening Round Game

PASCO, Wash. - The Lower Columbia Red Devils showcased their elite play on both ends of the floor as they defeated Shoreline 91-60 in game three of the 2025 NWAC Men's Basketball Championship presented by Golf Universe, on Friday night at Columbia Basin College.

Kap Laila led LCC with 20 points, making 7 of 9 shots, including 3 of 3 from beyond the arc. He also added 9 rebounds. Malik Brown contributed significantly with 12 points and 8 assists, hitting 5 of 9 shots from the field. David Young was another key player, scoring 17 points with two steals in just 26 minutes. Amir Locus dominated the boards with 13 rebounds and added 11 points, making 5 of 7 shots.

LCC led the Dolphins 43-28 at the end of the first half, establishing a dominant presence on the court. The Red Devils shot 17-for-28 from the field while limiting the Dolphins to just two three pointers and no free throw attempts.

The Red Devils continued to pull away in the second half as they outscored the Dolphins 48-32, showing off their high-powered offense. Lower Columbia made 19 of 40 baskets and excelled from beyond the arc, hitting 8 of 16 three-pointers. They dominated the boards with 27 total rebounds, 12 of which were offensive, leading to 12 second-chance points.

Sherrell McCullum stood out for Shoreline with a team-high 16 points and eight rebounds. Daniel Wondie was notable for his all-around performance, scoring 10 points while also recording four rebounds and two steals.

The Red Devils move onto the Elite 8 round where they will take on Treasure Valley on Saturday at 4 p.m.
