Bellevue Men's Golf Takes First at Skagit Valley League Match
BURLINGTON, Wash. - The Bellevue College men's golf team took first place at first league match of the spring, hosted by Skagit Valley at Avalon Golf Course on Monday and Tuesday.
The Bulldogs shot +23 for the two-round league match, besting second place Columbia Basin by eight strokes. Bellevue had three of the top-four individual finishers including medalist Saum Sabetian who finished with an overall score of 145, shooting 1-over par for the two rounds. He bested teammate Kai Lambro and Spokane's Trey Lecheminant by just one stroke as the pair tied for second at 146, 2-over par. Lambro and Columbia Basin's Jesus Castaneda had the best first round scores of 72 while Sabetian and Lecheminant shot the best second rounds of 71.
Also finishing in the top-10 was Bellevue's Isaac Elaimy who took fourth at +3. CBC's Castaneda took fifth at +4, followed by Spokane's Curtis Seidel (+7), Southwestern Oregon's Finn Smolders and Shane Sundberg who tied for seventh (+8) and CBC's Wyatt Hansen who took ninth at +11. SWOCC's Nathan Coeman, CBC's Apollos Morris and Spokane's Jakeb Vallance all tied for 10th at +12. The league match featured 53 competitors from nine NWAC programs.
Spokane finished third place at +34 as a team. They were followed by SWOCC in fourth (+41), Skagit Valley (+80), Olympic (+82), Blue Mountain (+87), South Puget Sound (+88), and Highline (+99).
NWAC golf league play continues over the next few weeks as the teams had to Riverside Golf Course for the Centralia League Match next week April 27-28. The final league match will be hosted by Spokane on May 3-4 before the NWAC Championships at Apple Tree Golf Course May 18-19.
