Skagit Valley Wins First Men's Golf Title Since 2005 and 2nd All Time
YAKIMA, Wash. - The Skagit Valley men's golf team claimed its second-ever NWAC title and first since 2005 on Monday at the 2026 NWAC Golf Championships at Apple Tree Golf Course.
The Cardinals bested the regular season champions in Bellevue by two strokes with a team score of +6 after shooting -3 on day two. Bellevue looked to make a furious comeback with a low score of -7 on day two, but the Cardinals six stroke lead after round one gave them the cushion needed to claim the title.
A big reason for that title was the play of Baden Golfer of the Year Logan Medcalf, who shot 68 in round two after shooting 75 in round one. A majority of players shot better on day two as the winds were disruptive during the first round. Medcalf had the lowest single round of the tournament, but he was not alone in impressive performances for the Cardinals.
Skagit Valley's Broden Toney and Michael Hoagland, who led after round one, each tied for second with matching scores of even-par. Mason Acker tied for 10th with an overall score of +7.
Bellevue was led by Kai Lambro, who tied with Toney and Hoagland for second at even-par. Lambro shot 69 in round two, matching teammate Isaac Elaimy's round. Milo Stover shot 71 and Henry Mills shot 72 in round two as all four scorers for the Bulldogs shot even par or lower on day two.
Columbia Basin finished third overall at +31, followed by Spokane at +35 and South Puget Sound at +56.
Skagit Valley head coach Daniel Graber was named the NWAC Men's Golf Coach of the Year as he led the Cardinals to the title, his second as head coach.
