2025 NWAC Softball All-Region Awards Revealed
VANCOUVER, Wash. - The 2025 NWAC Softball All-Region awards have been announced, with award winners for each of the three regions. Each region consists of a Most Valuable Player, Pitcher of the Year, Coach of the Year along with First and Second Team honorees. Co-North region champion Everett and West Region champions Lower Columbia swept their all-region awards while East Region champions Columbia Basin won both MVP and Pitcher of the Year awards. Umpqua first baseman Kiley Jones was named Honorary Player of the Year and UCC head coach Jami Strinz was named Honorary Coach of the Year in the South Region. Walla Walla head coach Logan Parker was selected the East Region Coach of the Year.
Everett and Edmonds tied for the North Region title with matching 28-6 records. MVP Emma Joy Wise for Everett posted a .530 batting average, 11 home runs and 66 RBI. Trojans' Pitcher of the Year Alissa Hermansen went 17-6 with 138 strikeouts and a 4.04 ERA in 150.2 innings. Randy Smith and his assistant coaches were named the North Region Coaching Staff of the Year. The Tritons were led by three first team selections including pitchers Bella Carazo (12-3 record, 159 strikeouts) and Emersyn Bakker (9-5 record, 82 strikeouts) and infielder Aliya Boonsripisal (.489 AVG, 56 runs scored).
Lower Columbia completed the first undefeated regular season in NWAC history (apart from the COVID-shortened seasons) with a 43-0 record. Facing some of the toughest competition in the South Region, the Red Devils went 30-0 in region led by Coach of the Year Traci Fuller. MVP Brooklyn Loose had 17 home runs, 62 RBI, 68 runs scored and a .496 batting average. Pitcher of the Year Zoey Hughes led a dominant pitching staff with a 14-0 record, 118 strikeouts and a 1.59 earned run average.
Columbia Basin's Lauryn Krick was one of the top two-way players in the NWAC this year as she went 20-2 in the circle with a 2.15 ERA and a league-high 188 punchouts in 133.1 innings pitched. She was perhaps even more dominant at the plate as she led the NWAC in batting average (.576), home runs (25) and RBI (83). Pitcher of the Year Peighton Fuhriman went 14-0 in the circle with 104 K's in 86 innings for the Hawks. Coach of the Year Logan Parker led the Warriors to second place in the East with an 18-6 record and 29-13 overall.
