Job Announcement: Head Women's Soccer Coach/Instructor, Walla Walla
Walla Walla Community College is currently accepting applications for its head women's soccer coach/instructor position.
General Description:
The Women's Soccer Coach oversees and manage all aspects of the Walla Walla Community College Women's Soccer Program. These aspects include but are not limited to recruitment and retention of student athletes, budget development and management, fundraising components for the program, scheduling and management of contests, facility management for practices and contests, and all other aspects necessary for the operation of a first class Soccer program. The Soccer coach will report directly to the Director of Athletics of Walla Walla Community College.
Instructors are credentialed, professional educators with the responsibility of providing a quality education for all WWCC students. The relationship of the faculty member to the student is one of teacher, mentor, and facilitator of learning.
Essential Functions Soccer Coach:
- Develop, along with the Athletic Director, a Soccer budget conducive to the operation of a first-class Soccer program. This budget should include scholarship funding, goods and services' needs, and travel expenditures.
- Manage the Soccer budget in an accurate and professional manner and operate the Soccer Program within the parameters of the agreed upon Soccer budget.
- Develop a fundraising system for the Soccer Program to enhance the needs of the program and to aid in the balancing of the Soccer budget if necessary.
- Recruit student athletes to the Soccer program in adequate numbers conducive to the development of a competitive team, but also within the desired management number as agreed to with the Athletic Director.
- Monitor the academic standing and progress of all student-athletes associated with the Soccer program, and uphold the student-athlete philosophy as defined by the Walla Walla Community College Athletic Department.
- Know and understand all appropriate NWAACC rules for competition, eligibility requirements, and generally understand the overall NWAACC Codebook regarding league operations for all Soccer programs.
- Supervise all Soccer student-athletes at all Walla Walla Community College sponsored Soccer events or any event in which the Walla Walla Community College Soccer Program is involved. Be present at all contests and road trips and strictly monitor the behavior of all student-athletes on road trips.
- Travel with Soccer student-athletes to events outside of Walla Walla and accompany them on road trips at all times.
- Enforce and support the Walla Walla Community College Athletic Department Code of Conduct regarding rules and regulations for all student-athletes at Walla Walla Community College, and report all violations and concerns to the Athletic Director immediately.
- Set up practice schedule and conduct all practices for Soccer participants unless otherwise cleared by the Athletic Director. Understand how to manage practices in a competitive but productive manner, and make certain all student-athletes are properly prepared for competition.
- Know and understand advanced knowledge of the sport, teaching techniques, communication concepts, and any other aspects that are imperative for quality teaching of advanced Soccer skills.
- Keep current on all Soccer skill and teaching innovations in the sport.
- Keep current on required CPR and First-Aid training and always maintain current qualifications in each.
- Promote the team concept as a member of the Athletic Department at Walla Walla Community College, not only within the Athletic Department but also within the entire Walla Walla Community College community. Help Athletic Director in all Athletic Department fundraising endeavors as requested.
- Successfully and satisfactorily, perform all other jobs acquired on the Walla Walla Community College campus as contractually assigned by the college administration.
- Attend all coaches meetings and keep updated on all Walla Walla Community College business.
- Perform any and all other job requirements as assigned by the Athletic Director within reasonable standards.
- Other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
