Green River Welcomes Kelvin Mizen as Interim Head Soccer Coach
AUBURN, Wash. - Green River College is thrilled to announce Kelvin Mizen as the new Interim Head Women's Soccer Coach for Gator Athletics. With a strong background in coaching and a passion for developing athletes both on and off the field, Mizen is poised to lead the Gators to new heights.
Hailing from Bournemouth, England, Coach Mizen brings a wealth of experience in soccer. Mizen, who previously played in AFC Bournemouth's Academy before joining their U19 team, began his coaching career early on while working with AFC Bournemouth's Academy and Southampton International Academy. He moved to the US in 2016 and has since coached at LA Galaxy Academy, LA Surf Academy, and WA EPD. Currently, Mizen serves as the head coach for Valor Soccer and is also part of their leadership team. In addition to his club commitments, Mizen is a Seattle Sounders Future's Coach & Academy Scout.
Mizen received a Bachelors in Football Coaching, Development and Administration, from the University of South Wales. In addition, he holds a UEFA B License and is currently a USSF B candidate. Mizen resides in Covington, WA. He is married to Robin and they have two children, Ollie, who is 8, and Isla, who is 3. In his free time, he loves to spend moments with his family and take advantage of the various outdoor activities available in Washington.
Coach Mizen's vision for the soccer program is centered around creating a competitive, supportive, and growth-focused environment. He is dedicated to developing athletes who not only excel on the field but also thrive academically and socially, preparing them for future success at a 4 year institution and beyond.
